DR. JESSICA COLUMBUS
Dr. Jess is a native of the UP where she graduated Newberry High School in 1997 and Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After a year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she worked briefly as an emergency veterinarian at Fox Valley Animal Referral Center in Appleton, WI. She returned home to the UP in 2006 when she joined the Thompson Veterinary Clinic team where she remained until 2019 when she founded Best Life Veterinary House Calls.
Dr. Jess shares her home with husband Mike Columbus, two children, two cats and one dog. In her free time, she enjoys all outdoor activities that the UP has to offer, time connecting with family and friends, and dancing any chance she gets.

MELONIE NEADOW
Melonie Neadow is the wife of John Neadow and mother to Katherine, Sarah and Isabelle. She lovingly jokes about being an import to the UP because she met her husband in Georgia. But she’s not from there either. Melonie is a child of the world because both her dad and stepdad were military men, which makes her an Army Brat, and that’s something she’s very proud of. Although she’s not a native Yooper, she has strong ties to the area as her Granny was born and raised in Marquette. She has lived in Manistique for over 20 years. Melonie wants you to know, “I am excited to be starting on this adventure with Dr. Columbus and look forward to helping you and your furbabies live their Best Life!”
